Pho Movie Trailer

The ICESat-2 satellite, which is currently being built and tested at NASA Goddard in Greenbelt, will study Earth in a unique way -- and we have developed a unique education and outreach tool.

In Photon Jump, a 3-minute short animation, a brave photon of light named Pho must travel from a NASA spacecraft down to Earth and back again to help complete a crucial science mission.

The animation is a partnership between NASA’s ICESat-2 mission and students from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Developed by students and faculty with direct supervision from ICESat’s scientists and engineers, the goal was to create an entertaining and educational short film for a variety of audiences..
