African Dust Sequence

  • Released Thursday, March 6, 2003

A 48-hour dust storm on March 1 and 2, 2003, is responsible for a very large dust transport over the Atlantic Ocean from March 2 through March 6, 2003.

March 2, 2003 : Aqua-MODIS and Terra-MODIS both take images of the West African dust storm. The two spacecraft's images have been combined to produce one contigent image. The latitude and longitude of the inset image is [-37.2465, 39.0856, 9.7089, 4.9114]
