Black History Month 2009
Join NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., in celebrating Black History Month. Each week in February, a different African-American employee from GSFC will be featured. In the opening week, two will be featured. The employees will talk about their careers, career paths and, in some cases, obstacles and challenges they have faced.
Danielle Wood is a research scientist at M.I.T. who has worked with NASA in finding ways that remote sensing techniques can aid in developing nations, particularly in Africa.
Dewayne Washington is the deputy news chief at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His background is in journalism and he started as a combat correspondent for the U.S. Marines. He introduces the profiles for Black History Month 2009.
Denna Lambert is the program manager for the disabilities program at Goddard. She is blind and works to help other Goddard employees with disabilities do their jobs comfortably and effectively.
Jahi Wartts is a business resources analyst and currently works on the James Webb Space Telescope program.
Noble Jones is an aerospace engineer who has worked on design for LRO and SDO. He also plays professional arena football for Maryland.
